Disaster Area TRS to MIDI Cable

Custom-made 3ft. 1/4″ right angle TRS to 5-pin DIN MIDI cable.  We make this cable in two versions, please read the descriptions carefully to select the correct cable!

MJ-5P:  Connects the MultiJack (Gen3 or SMARTClock) or Expression Input (DMC-3XL / DMC-4 Gen2 only) to 5-pin MIDI devices

5P-QQ:  Connects a 5-pin MIDI port to a 1/4″ capable MIDI device, such as Empress, Meris, or Alexander Neo Series.

MJ-5P directions for use:

DMC Gen3 (ALL)

Open the pedal and flip all three DIP switches to the “ON” / up position.  If using MJ2 or MJ3 on a DMC-6 / DMC-8 Gen3, flip the fourth DIP switch to the “OFF” position.

Replace the lid and power the controller on while holding the lower left and right buttons until SETUP is displayed.

Tap the L or R button until JACK or MJ1 / MJ2 / MJ3 is displayed, then tap the mode or SAVE button.

Tap the L or R button until MIDI is displayed, then tap the mode button again to return to the menu.

Tap the L or R button until J Ch or 1CH / 2CH / 3CH is displayed, then tap the mode button to edit.

Tap the L or R buttons until the desired channels (A, B, C, or any combination) are displayed.  J 000 will send MIDI on all channels but will filter out MIDI clock.

Tap the mode button to return to the menu, then hold the mode button to save.

Connect the TRS to MIDI cable to the MultiJack and your MIDI device.

SMARTClock:

Connect the TRS plug to the MultiJack.

Enter Setup mode on the SMARTClock by holding the encoder knob at power-on.

Navigate to the JACK settings and tap the encoder knob to set.

Set the JACK setting to either MIDI (sends all MIDI messages to the MultiJack) or nCLK (sends all MIDI messages except MIDI Clock to the MultiJack.)

Tap the encoder knob to exit.

Hold the encoder knob to save.

DMC-3XL Gen2 / DMC-4 Gen2:

Connect the TRS plug to the Expression Pedal input.

Enter Setup mode by holding the mode button at power on (center button for DMC-3XL, upper-right for DMC-4.)

Tap the left button until “E” is displayed on the left side of the screen.

Tap the right button until “MID” is displayed on the right side of the screen.

Hold the mode button (center button for DMC-3XL, upper-right for DMC-4.)
